The wine-growing area of DO Rueda lies in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León. It consists of 72 municipalities, of which 53 are located to the south of Valladolid province, 17 to the west of Segovia and 2 to the north of Avila.

The different grape varieties grown spread irregularly over the various municipalities making up the DO Rueda. However, the vineyards reach their highest concentration and intensity in La Seca, Rueda and Serrada municipal townships.

The Verdejo grape is the queen of DO Rueda and one of the most thriving varietals in the Spanish viticultural scene. It is a grape with the personality of the great white wines, perceptible in its volume and its characteristic bitterish touch that brings a spark of originality to the mouth, accompanied by a decided fruity expression.

These are very harmonious wines, whose lingering mid-palate invites you to continue drinking.

The DO Rueda area rises to 700-800 m above sea level. Its lands are flat but high and are exposed to very long, cold winters, short springs, with late frosts and dry, hot summers only broken by inopportune storms. This factor forces the vines to seek water resources at the deepest subsoil level, more than in other areas in Europe. On the other hand, day/night temperature oscillation is the secret behind the balance between the sugar the grape gains in the sun and the acidity it does not lose during the night chill.

DO Rueda is located in the middle of the depression shaped by the Duero River, constituting a plateau of soft contours and slopes freshened by Atlantic winds.

These are lands rich in calcium and magnesium, pebbly with good aeration and drainage, and with limestone outcrops. Permeable and healthy, their texture ranges from silty sand to silt. The geologic substrate here has evolved towards the typical 'gravelly' soils where the best vineyards of the DO Rueda are located.
